Manipur state situated on the North Eastern border between
India
and Myanmar.
The state has total geographical area of 22,327 Sq. Km. of which 90% are hilly
regions. As against this physical feature of the area, 61.45 per cent of the
total population (2001) is in the valley while 38.45 percent in the hill
districts. Manipur has an international boundary of about 352 kms. long stretch
of land with Myanmar
in the east. The altitude of the state about the mean sea level varies from 790
meters to 2020 meters & the valley in the middle is as gradually sloping from
north to south.
