Imphal, April 30 2021: The Kangla Siphai Youth Organisation (KSYO), Kangla Siphai has expressed gratitude to its volunteers, members of Nongpok Chingkhei Apunba Development Committee, Kangla Siphai Purnima Marup, Chingkheigi Mangal (a self-help group) and Forest guards for extending a hand in fighting a wildfire at Chingkhei Ching.

The wildfire which supposedly started from the slope of Chingkhei Ching facing Bamon Kampu raged throughout the night of April and before it was put off by cutting off its course towards Moirangkampu Satjal office by nearly 20 volunteers of Kangla Siphai Youth Organisation (KSYO) and forest guards on April 27 morning, it said.

Unfortunately, the wildfire restarted itself by around 2 pm the same day and devasted three slopes of the same hill range despite effort from volunteers of Kangla Siphai Youth Organisation (KSYO), forest guards, individuals and members of other organisation to control the fire.

The fire was completely doused off by 8 am the next morning with help pouring in and reinforcement in the firefighting by more people, it said while expressing its thankfulness to all who aided in the firefighting effort.
