Campaign on Nutri-Garden conducted

Tamenglong, September 18 2021: As a part of the ongoing Aradi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in to commemoration of the 75th year of India's Independence, a campaign on Nutri-Garden (Poshan Vatika Abhiyan) cum Tree Plantation programme was held on Saturday at Charoi, Tupul community hall.

The programme was organised by ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tamenglong under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

During the programme, tree/fruit saplings and seed packets were distributed to the farmers.

Millet-based sweets and nutritious foods were also distributed to the children.

A ceremonial tree plantation drive was also conducted in and around the Tupul playground.

Technical session was held during which lectures on the topics of 'Nutri-cereals and their role on human health' and 'Role of plantation on sustainable agriculture & rural livelihood' were delivered by Gaipuichung Kamei, SMS (agronomy) and Dr RK Roshan, SMS (horticulture), respectively.

The participants also witnessed a webcast of the inaugural event by Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, from Delhi.
