Clean India programme launched

Thoubal, October 01 2021: As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Clean India Programme was kicked off at the hall of Thoubal Municipal Council on Friday.

The inaugural function, which was organised jointly by Thoubal Municipal Council and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Thoubal, commenced with a rally flagged off by Thoubal district SP Jogeschandra Hapbijam, carrying the message of Clean India Campaign.

The programme is scheduled to conclude on October 31.Speaking on the occasion, Nehru Yuya Kendra Sangathan Thoubal Youth coordinator Michael Mate explained the Clean India Programme in detail to the gathering while SP Jogeschandra informed that the programme is categorised into three phases-- preparatory, Launching and Collection and disposal, with emphasis on collection and disposal of wastes at suitable sites.

He then urged all concerned to take part in the campaign and help in beautifying the district.

ADM Thoubal B Lokeswor Sharma and Thoubal Municipal Council executive officer Pradeep Hawaibam also spoke about the Clean India Programme.

Later, the SP and the ADM Thoubal led the people in taking the-pledge of Clean India Programme, which was also attended by college students, NYK volunteers, SHG members, officials and staff of Thoubal Municipal Council.
