Awareness programme

Bishnupur, January 11 2018: An awareness programme on 'Water Birds of Loktak Lake, A Ramsar Site' organised by All Rural Ideal Cultural Association (ARICA) was held at Thanga Houreng Chingyang Bazar Community Hall today. The awareness programme under the Division Forest Officer, Bishnupur Forest Division and India Bird Conservation Network (IBCN), Manipur aimed at giving awareness to the people about the importance of protecting the indigenous birds and migratory birds visiting the Loktak Lake. Range Officer Moirang L Babuyai, Range Officer, Bishnupur HQs S Ratankumar, Principal Kumbi College as well as Honorary Wild Life Warden K Jugeshwor Singh, Co-coordinator of IBCN, Manipur RK Birijit, Associate Professor Moirang College N Sony Meitei and President Thanga Bazar Board Committee Oinam Yaima Singh attended the awareness programme as dignitaries. Various resource persons stressed on the need to preserve Loktak Lake and protect migratory birds to sustain the Lake.
