Imphal, April 02 2018: A workshop for stake holders on 'Revision of State Action Plan on Climate Change' was held today at Hotel Classic Grande under the aegis of the Directorate of Environment and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Environment Director Dr Y Nabachandra, Dr Ashok Sinha of CTRAN, Prof Rabindranath of IISC Bangalore and Dr Anamika Baruah of IIT Guwahati attended the workshop as presidium members. Dr Y Nabachandra said that there is a need for modification of the State Action for Climate Change in view of the emerging priorities. The United Nations Climate Change Conference held at Paris agreed to restrict global warming between 1.5 degree Celsius and 2 degree Celsius, he said. Dr Ashok Sinha presented a paper on 'Overview of the workshop', Prof Rabindranath on 'Climate change projection, impact, vulnerability and adaptation assessment for SAPCC-2' and Dr Anamika Baruah presented a paper on 'Climate change vulnerability assessment in NE region'.
